An eight-part teaching series presenting discipleship in the church as Christ's primary method for spiritual maturity. Session 1 explains the principle of life-transference. The primary Scriptures discussed are Matthew 28:19-20; 4:19; 8:21-22; Luke 9:23-24; 10:38-39; Mark 3:13-14; Acts 4:13.
What does it mean to truly grow as a disciple of Jesus? In this message, we reflect on the past year and look ahead to the journey of living set apart for God—a life marked by growth, discipleship, and purpose.
As followers of Christ, we’re called to abide in Him, remaining connected like branches to the vine. From Philippians 2 and John 15, we explore how to “work out our salvation” through intentional steps of growth and investing in others.
Whether it’s through prayer, community, or stepping into the Great Commission, discipleship isn’t just about us—it’s about who we’re leading to Jesus.
This year, let’s ask ourselves: are we becoming disciples who make disciples? As we lean into our mission of following Jesus, living in community, and loving generously, we find hope, strength, and a greater purpose.
Who is God calling you to walk alongside in this season? Let’s reflect, pray, and grow together as a church that invites others into a better way—the way of Jesus.

Jonathan Evans, a mentor, author, speaker and former NFL fullback treasures his relationship with Christ along with the opportunity to use his life to glorify God. Jonathan seeks to impact today’s athletes, men and young adults by equipping and encouraging them in their faith.
Jonathan serves with his pastor, friend and father, Dr. Tony Evans, both in the local church and the national ministry. They also teamed up together to write Get in the Game, a practical guidebook filled with sports analogies and spiritual truths aimed at strengthening readers with the skills they need for living victoriously.
Depicts the meaning of being a Christian; the spreading of Jesus fame as His popularity increases, Multitudes follow Him. After a night in prayer He chooses twelve from a group of disciples whom He names Apostles. Jesus gives the Sermon on the Mount, He instructs on prayer and offers the Lord's Prayer. We see him healing a leper. .
The first mini-series made for television. Originally airing on NBC in 12 parts in 1951, it documents Christ's story from his birth to the resurrection. Narrated by Art Gilmore. Starring Robert Holton as Jesus.
As we embark on a new year, we're called to reflect on what it truly means to be a disciple of Christ. The passage from Luke 9 challenges us to examine our commitment to following Jesus. It's not just about attending church; it's about living out our faith daily. The core of discipleship lies in knowing who Jesus is and embracing His mission as our own. We're reminded that this journey requires self-denial and a willingness to 'take up our cross' daily. This paradoxical teaching - that we must lose our life to save it - invites us to consider what we need to give up in order to gain the fullness of life in Christ. As we ponder this, we're encouraged to find our own ministries and ways to serve, no matter how small. The transfiguration story emphasizes the importance of listening to Jesus above all else. In a world full of distractions, are we truly tuning in to His voice and allowing it to guide our actions?

This 12 minutes video takes a close look at the principles of following our Lord Jesus Christ.
It is an exploration of the profound call of Jesus: “Follow Me.” This call is more than a suggestion; it’s a command that transforms lives. He isn't just inviting us on a physical journey but a spiritual transformation. It's a call to leave behind our old ways and embrace a new life in Christ.
To follow Jesus is to embrace certain principles that guide our Christian walk. These principles are not merely abstract concepts; they are practical, life-changing truths. It’s crucial that we know them and delve deeper for better understanding.
(He bows his head.)
Let us pray for wisdom and understanding as we delve deeper.
Father, we come before You, hungry for Your truth. Speak to us through Your Word and help us to understand what it means to follow Your Son wholeheartedly. In the name of Jesus’ Christ of Nazareth, we pray. Amen.
Principles of Following Jesus
1. Radical Commitment
The first principle is “Radical Commitment”. Examine this scripture;
Luke 9 verse 23 says, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.” A2P
To follow Jesus requires complete surrender. Following Jesus demands a radical commitment. It’s not a half-hearted endeavor but a complete surrender of self. To “deny yourself” means to set aside your personal ambitions, desires, and comforts for the sake of Christ.
Think of a soldier in training. He or she leaves his or her civilian life behind to serve the nation. In the same way, following Jesus means prioritizing His will over our own.
2. Universal Call
The second principle is “Universal Call”. Jesus’ call to follow is for everyone. Examine this scripture, in Matthew 11 verse 28, Jesus says, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
No matter your background, status, or past sins, Jesus invites you to follow Him. The call of Jesus is universal. It transcends race or status. Whether you are a farmer in a village or a CEO in a metropolis, Jesus says, “Come.” This means that no one is too far from His reach. The grace of God levels the playing field.
3. Cost of Discipleship
The third principle is “Cost of Discipleship”. Following Jesus comes at a cost. Examine these scriptures
Luke 14 verses 27 and 28 tell us; “Whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple. For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost?”
and
Luke 14 verse 33 tells us, “So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.” A4P
Following Jesus is costly. It may require sacrificing relationships, ambitions, and comforts. The cross was a symbol of suffering and death, and to carry it daily means embracing challenges for the sake of Christ.
4. Focus on Eternity
The fourth principle is “Focus on Eternity”. Examine this scripture. Colossians 3 verse 2 says, “Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.”
Discipleship isn’t just about this life; it’s about preparing for eternity with God. We live as citizens of heaven, not of this world
This world is temporary as 1 John 2 verse 17 reminds us, “The world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.”
Focusing on eternity means living with the awareness that our true home is in heaven. Earthly achievements and possessions are fleeting; what matters is our relationship with God
5. Personal Relationship with Jesus
The fifth principle is “Personal Relationship with Jesus”.Following Jesus is more than adhering to rules; it’s about knowing Him personally. He knows each of us intimately, and we are invited to know Him deeply.
In John 10 verse 27, Jesus says, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” A6P
A personal relationship involves prayer, worship, studying His Word and obeying His commands. When we spend time with Jesus, we recognize His voice and are guided by Him..
The video ends with a prayer.

BOOK DESCRIPTION
Many Christians don't disciple others because they think it's the church leaders' responsibility. But Jesus commanded all his disciples to go and make disciples. If we're honest, many of us hesitate to disciple others because we don't feel qualified, fear we'll do more harm than good, and think we don't have time for it. Yolanda Solomon provides a practical guide to help us become disciples who are empowered by Jesus to make disciples.
Through biblical exposition and personal narrative, Solomon describes the beauty of discipleship in a way that will (re)ignite your passion to disciple others. Discipleship as Holy Collaboration describes the traits of a disciple and examines how disciples are made as people encounter a love that empowers and compels them to continue Jesus' mission. She walks us through the life of Jesus, pointing out numerous examples of embodied discipleship that we can implement in our own context. Solomon describes Jesus' call to make disciples as an invitation to collaborate with God in a sacred group project. The book also includes a discussion guide and multiple step-by-step praxis activities to encourage and equip you to answer the call.

BOOK DESCRIPTION
The one BIG question: How do you disciple another man?
Men in thousands of churches across the world know there is more to faith than just attending church — they know there is the potential to walk in Christ’s image, live in Christ’s image, and work to spread Christ’s word. But the one big question they are all asking is how? The Spirit of God is compelling them to seek the answer. This book is the gateway to answering that question.
The authors spent years struggling to build a life of meaning before realizing their depravity and asking the questions: “What does it mean to be a godly man, and how can I become one?” The Spirit answered by sending men into their lives to disciple them, not with disdain or judgment, but with love and compassion, a gospel-centered focus. These men walked alongside them in the messiness of life, helping them to apply Biblical truths and spiritual disciplines in a challenging world. From their own personal journeys, out of the abyss, the authors have written this book.
Here you will learn to:BUILD a one-on-one relationship CREATE a culture of men who support each other LOOK TO CHRIST and find what obstacles are blocking you TRANSFORM your life seeing the Gospel advance through the discipling of other men.Real-Life Discipleship: The Ordinary Man’s Guide to Disciple-Making offers a gateway from confusion to clarity, from struggle to transformation.
