Mark Finley and I were friends at Wildwood 47 years ago but he’ oversimplifies Revelation. Christ said we should live by every word of God, but Mark glosses over most of Revelation and spends less than a minute on the message of Judgment in Rev 14.
Pioneers following a Baptist preacher, Wm Miller, gave the message of judgment linked with the Bridegroom’s coming and neither message fit as expected, but Christ said we must prophesy again in Rev 10:11. In the context of the bitter belly of Rev 10, we must give those same messages again, but with a better understanding
Please take a couple minutes to understand how this is so in the example of Egypt. God “executed judgment and took Israel to a covenant that made them His kingdom and Bride in Exod 19:5,6 and Jer 3:14.
Ellen White describes the midnight cry as a “sudden, unlooked-for calamity” COL 412.
We need to see how the US is like Egypt—they killed babies and the US has aborted 60 million and enslaved most people in alcohol, tobacco, drugs and many negative lifestyles.
As Ellen White said, “we are to give, with no uncertain sound, the message: “Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come.” 4BC 1184.8

“It is of the manner of His coming that Jesus gave specific instruction to His followers. As the crowning work of deception, Satan himself, clad in the garments of light, will appear as Christ. Multitudes will be deceived by this counterfeit Christ. Multitudes will be lured onto the rocks of the enchanted isle by the siren voice of the great destroyer. The Bible is our only safeguard against deception and destruction. The word of God is our shield and our defense.”
The Secret Rapture and the Antichrist seeks to inform the reader of the need to be prayerful and aware of false prophets, false teachers, and false Christs—holding fast to the profession of our faith.

Revelation 14 tells of three important messages to the world. John’s vision here is not symbolic of three literal angels who will come and proclaim these messages to the world. Rather, it refers to God’s people—His ambassadors—who proclaim these truths.
The Three Angels’ Messages are the final messages of warning to the world. These messages ensure that everyone has had a chance to choose between the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of Earth—Satan's kingdom. When the messages have reached everyone, the time of probation will close and Christ will return to free His people.
The great war between Christ and Satan reaches its climax as these messages are preached, and the people of the world will be split into two groups: the followers of Christ and the followers of Satan. The contest will be fierce and there will be a time of the worst trouble to ever happen (Daniel 12:1).
Throughout the book of Revelation, the two great camps are contrasted. Satan tries his best to counterfeit the plan of salvation, in order to deceive God’s chosen people (Matthew 24:24). Revelation tells of a Beast power, which we see to be Roman Catholicism, that Satan uses to counterfeit the ministry of Christ. He even sets up a false trinity to lead the world astray.
Only the true Prince of this world, Jesus Christ, can save us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness:
And from Jesus Christ who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood (Revelation 1:5).
When Christ returns, the false prince—Satan—will be judged and cast out (John 16:11).
The battle and stark differences between the two sides is a theme in the book of Revelation.

(Un)regular Worship
A 2018 worldwide survey of Seventh-day Adventists found that only 34 percent of Adventist homes are engaging in regular morning
and evening worship, and only 52 percent of church members have any personal devotions at all. Can a church with an end-time
message centered on worship—the three angels’ messages of Revelation 14:6-12—deliver this solemn message if its members are
not faithfully engaged in personal and family worship? In other words, can we proclaim effectively what many of us are not doing
daily?
Ellen White comments, “There is nothing more needed in the work [of God] than the practical results of communion with God”
(Testimonies for the Church, vol. 6, p. 47). Elsewhere shewrites, “Like the patriarchs of old, those who profess to love God should erect
an altar to the Lord wherever they pitch their tent. . . . Fathers and mothers should often lift up their hearts to God in humble
supplication for themselves and their children. Let the father, as priest of the household, lay upon the altar of God the morning and
evening sacrifice, while the wife and children unite in prayer and praise. In such a household Jesus will love to tarry” (Child Guidance,
pp. 518, 519)
Our Most Urgent Need
The restoration of personal and family worship among Seventh-day Adventists is perhaps the most pressing need of our time. But
it will not be easy. Today we face the challenge of technology that increasingly occupies our time and alters our minds. Our addiction
to media, especially social media, has left us anxious, irritable, lonely, stressed, depressed, sleepless, and unhappy with our station
in life.
Ironically, personal and family worship have the opposite effect. Worship calms our minds, decreases loneliness, reduces stress,
increases peace, fulfills our emotional needs, and teaches us contentment. Might the altar be the antidote to our frazzled minds and
restless hearts?
Now more than ever, God is calling us back to His heart, to consistent times of refreshing in His presence. It is for this reason that
the Seventh-day Adventist Church has launched the “Back the Altar” initiative, a landmark effort to rebuild the broken personal and
family altars in God’s church. By 2027 we hope to see at least 70 percent of Adventist members engaged morning and evening in
personal and family worship. You will hear more about this initiative in the days ahead, but we can all begin now to worship God
faithfully and consistently. If we go back to the altar with God, we will be transformed into His image and empowered to finish His
work!
Today let us ask God for a special outpouring of His Holy Spirit on our worship experiences with Him. Now more than ever, we need
the precious blessing of communion with God.

Revelation is all about Jesus. It is His message to His people and is especially applicable to His church in the last days. It is the grace-filled message of our end-time hope. Throughout the book, Christ is described as the slain Lamb, and a blessing is promised to those who read, understand, and act on the truths revealed. According to Revelation 1:5, 6, Jesus is the One who “loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father” (NKJV). In Christ we are forgiven. Grace pardons our past, empowers our present, and provides hope for our future. That is, in Christ we are delivered from sin’s penalty and power, and one day soon we will be delivered from sin’s presence. This is the message of the Bible’s last book, Revelation. And it also is an urgent message, first pictured as an angel flying swiftly in midheaven having the “everlasting gospel.” The gospel? Salvation by faith in Christ? Christ’s atoning death for us? The promise of eternal life, not because of what we can do but because of what Christ has done for us? All this is at the beginning of the three angels’ messages? Exactly! No wonder, then, that they are grace-filled messages full of hope and promise for us as broken and suffering beings.

The heart of the true minister is filled with an intense longing to save souls. With invitations and pleadings, mingled with the assurances of God's love, he seeks to win souls to Jesus, and in heaven he is numbered among those who are “called, and chosen, and faithful.”
