To be a Christian is to be a disciple. You were chosen as His disciple because Jesus believes you can become like Him. What an amazing privilege and high calling that is.

DISCIPLE
What is a Christian? Someone who attends church, reads their Bible and prays? Is a Christian a person who professes faith in Christ or the creeds of the church? What is primary to our identity as Christians? It’s interesting, the word "Christian" is only found 3 times in the New Testament. Yet the word "disciple" (which means a student or apprentice or follower) occurs 269 times. The point is to be a Christian is to be a disciple. Being a disciple is not an add-on to the Christian life. It is the Christian life.
